“FALLing in Love with Cooler Temps: Only in South Loop”

When autumn leaves start to fall
Chicago is not for the faint of heart when it comes to weather. Mother Nature is a fickle one, going from sunny beach days to blustery winter days and hardly anything in between. But, that in between weather is just the best, when you are here in Chicago. That in-between time, being Fall. When autumn leaves start to fall, you'll see people eagerly step outside more to enjoy the crisp, refreshing air, change out their sundresses for chunky sweaters and flannels, and eagerly look for things to do to celebrate the wonderful, yet fleeting season of Fall. South Loop folk know where the fun is to be had when we enter this season.

Comfort food is the epitome of Fall and coziness.
And you can get all that and more when you hit up the Mac and Cheese Fest in South Loop on November 4. Don't forget to nosh on the chorizo mac and cheese while you're there -delish!

Maybe you're like me and prefer bubbly most months out of the year. But, when the temps start to drop, there is just something so right about a toasty dark beer. You can dabble in all types of dark, barrel aged beers at the highly sought after Festival of Barrel Aged Beers, held November 10-11. Try the past and current Goose Island Bourbon County beers and you'll be the envy of many. You'll want to drink some water in between your tastings! ;)

Christmastime in Chicago
As November moves on, the inevitable soon start to happen; the holidays! Okay, but let's be real: this starts in October, right? While I could go on and on about Fall in Chicago, there is simply nothing that could top Christmastime in Chicago. Yes, the chill could freeze you over. But, that's exactly why there are so many stores lining  Michigan Ave.; all to accommodate you in your down coat, knit hat, and warm mittens needs!
Aside from the chilly temps, Christmastime in Chicago is everything. South Loopers get easy access to the Magnificant Mile Tree lighting on November 16, at Millennium Park. Come to get in the holiday spirit and enjoy the glittering light display with your fellow Chicagoans! Take a break with some figure eights on the ice skating rink right there, or at the nearby Maggie Daley ribbon.
The weather might be getting colder by the minute, but Chicago is so warm and rich with tradition, you won't even feel the cold! And not to mention, you can always heat up in South Loop by participating in one of the many fun races! The Turkey Trot, Santa Hustle, Ugly Sweater run - just to name a few!- all take place in South Loop between November and December, offering you a chance to mingle with your community and have a little fun while working out!
While Chicago may be known for its summers of concerts and baseball games, South Loop allows city dwellers all that Chicago fun and social life even in the off months!
Now, let's hope Mother Nature stays on track and keeps giving us those cooler temps because I have been so ready for sweater weather and mulled wine at Christkindlmarket!
Xx,
Christine
